On Monday 1 December 2025, we sketched at Aloft on North John Street. Arches, the bar, Christmas decorations, flowers and people filled the sketchbooks, alongside street views and photographs of hands drawing and painting.
Aloft occupies Liverpool’s former Royal Insurance Building, completed in 1903. The conversion to a hotel brought this long-empty landmark back into use while retaining its distinctive historic spaces.
