On Monday 15 May 2023, we sketched at St Luke’s, the Bombed Out Church on Berry Street. The church tower, ironwork, nearby buildings and a figure study appear in the surviving photographs.

St Luke’s suffered severe damage in the May Blitz of 1941. Its surviving walls are preserved as a memorial and a setting for cultural events.
