On Monday 17 August 2026 we met at the Museum of Liverpool and sketched around the waterfront. The visiting Nao Santa María provided a subject for studies of rigging, timber, reflections and the ship’s bow, alongside drawings of nearby dock buildings.
The Nao Santa María is a replica of the flagship used on Columbus’s 1492 voyage. Built in Spain in 2018 by Fundación Nao Victoria, it visited Royal Albert Dock from 12 to 25 August 2026.
