On Thursday 30 April 2026, our day trip took us across the Mersey to Make Hamilton Studios and then out into Hamilton Square, Birkenhead. The town hall, monuments, lamps and surrounding buildings supplied subjects for pencil, ink and watercolour studies.
Hamilton Square forms part of a plan for Birkenhead laid out in 1825. Its formal terraces and open centre reflect the ambitions of the expanding nineteenth-century town.
