On Monday 11 May 2026, the Shakespeare in Williamson Square was our meeting place. The Playhouse theatre and St John’s Beacon were popular subjects, alongside the pub, trees and views from cafe tables across the square.
The Playhouse opened as The Star in 1866. Its theatre frontage remains an important part of the setting of Williamson Square.
