- Welcome to Downtown Sketchers 2025 This book brings together a year of sketching, exploring, laughing, learning, and getting rained on in the most Liverpool way possible. Since our first meetup at the Bombed Out Church in 2022, the group has grown into a proper creative family. Every Monday at 11 a.m you’ll find us scattered around the city - pencils out, coffee in hand - capturing Liverpool as it moves, shifts, and surprises us. From hidden corners and back-street treasures to the big landmarks everyone thinks they already know, we draw it all as it unfolds. 2025 marks another year of new faces, returning regulars, and a real mix of styles. What ties it all together is the shared joy of sketching on location and telling the story of the city, one page at a time. This edition also includes our "On Tour" sketches - those days when members ventured further afield and brought the spirit of urban sketching with them, wherever they happened to land. Each piece in here is its own viewpoint, its own voice. Together, they form a lively snapshot of Liverpool in 2025: its humour, its character, its grit, and its undeniable charm. Thanks for being part of our journey - whether you sketch with us, support us, or simply enjoy flipping through these pages. Here’s to another year of drawing the city as it truly feels. And looking ahead, keep an eye out for our April 2026 exhibition at the Amorous Cat Gallery - we’d love to see you there. — page 2
